Concéntrico returned to Logroño for its 12th edition in June 2026, transforming the city into a working site for architecture. Since its founding in 2015, the festival has built an identity on resisting a distant, controlled exhibition of design by constructing full-scale installations in the city's streets, plazas, and vacant lots. Concéntrico embeds installations directly into daily life, engaging residents and visitors as active, observant participants. This year's program brought together more than twenty projects by architects, designers, and researchers working across geographies and methods, each contributing to a citywide experiment in reimagining public space.
The festival organized its participants around three curatorial lines, each offering a unique framing on how architecture operates within the contemporary city. Identity and Fiction approaches the city as a site of narrative and memory, treating architecture as a way of recovering stories embedded in urban space. Projects in this category included Smiljan Radic's transposition of a traveling circus into collective architecture and OFREIA's research into memories and historical bathing practices in the fluvial landscape. Urban Ecologies addresses the relationships between architecture, climate, matter, and landscape in the contemporary city, ranging from NOOF Group's experimental pavilions capable of generating microclimates to Sahra Hersi's civic garden for cultivation and seed exchange. Ephemeral Agents considers temporary structures as tools to activate social dynamics and open opportunities for public space use, encompassing projects such as Gabriel Fontana's Multiform, the urban listening capsules developed by AAU Anastas, and a connection point between a pedestrian bridge and the riverside park below installed by Future Firm.
