Lunawood is a pioneer in decorative wood solutions, with 25 years of expertise in the thermal modification of wood. Their mission is to reconnect people with nature by bringing the calming essence of the forest into urban environments.
Lunawood ThermoWood® interior panels and battens were applied in the Golf Village residential development, a multi-unit housing project designed by Studio Mariana Crego and located in Riviera de São Lourenço, on the coast of São Paulo, Brazil.
Completed in 2021, the project was conceived around the concept of harmony between human life and nature, with a design strategy focused on reducing environmental impacts while supporting long-term residential comfort and quality of life.
In the apartments, Luna Triple panels were installed as ceiling finishes and extended seamlessly to the outdoor terraces, creating a continuous batten appearance that visually connects interior and exterior spaces. Lunawood ThermoWood® was also incorporated into additional architectural elements throughout the development, including pergolas, decks, and façade applications. These components contribute to solar control, spatial continuity, and material consistency across shared and private areas of the complex.
The selection of materials for the project was guided by sustainability criteria established to achieve AQUA-HQE certification, which required compliance with a comprehensive set of environmental performance standards related to energy efficiency, water management, and responsible material sourcing.
Within this framework, the use of thermally modified wood supported the project’s bioclimatic design approach and aligned with the overall objective of integrating durable, low-maintenance materials into a residential environment that balances architectural performance with environmental responsibility.
