This is why we are proud to announce the second edition of the ArchDaily Architecture Visualization Awards, where we will award the best of the year.

For us, visualizations have become a powerful tool that has helped us to think without limits about the design of our future cities, buildings, and structures. This is one of the reasons why we decided to launch this competition: to find the best talent from around the world and discover who is setting trends with their work and aesthetics, helping us to visualize the future of architecture. For this new edition, in the spirit of being at the forefront of architectural visualization, we have partnered with Enscape. To explore the latest in real-time rendering.

Until this Tuesday, May 3rd at 23:59 EST you can submit your work for the second edition of the ArchDaily Architectural Visualization Awards. The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has selected 11 projects as winners of its 2022 Architecture Awards. The annual Architecture Award program celebrates the best contemporary architecture, and highlights how spaces can cater to their residents and context and include a sense of place, purpose, history, and environmental sustainability. The selected projects include commercial, residential, and civic typologies, all designed by US-licensed architects.

In its 9th consecutive year, with the launch of Architecture, Construction, and Design Awards 2020, Rethinking The Future (RTF) is inviting architects and designers to submit their projects under the various building, interior, and product categories. RTF now offers even more opportunities for encouraging accomplished and up-and-coming design minds. Rethinking the Future has been a leading organization committed to recognizing and acknowledging innovative and future-sensitive designs worldwide. RTF celebrates and shares its knowledge base through a plethora of awards, events, and academic dialogues in the field of Architecture & Design.

The 2020 UK Passivhaus Awards are free to enter for all certified Passivhaus & EnerPHit schemes that not only have architectural ambition but can also prove their impeccable eco credentials. We’re looking for ground-breaking schemes that will prove the Standard can tackle the climate crisis and create healthy environments.

The Galvanizers Association Galvanizing Awards (GAGAs) is a free annual competition which has been recognising the use of galvanizing since 1994.

The 2ACAA have been organized and conceptualized by the 2A Magazine, an architecture magazine based in Canada. Ahmad Zohadi - CEO and the editor in chief of the 2A Magazine is the mind behind 2ACAA. The first ever 2ACAA 2015 took place in Istanbul, Turkey. The theme of the event was, “The emergence of Contemporary Architecture in Asia”. 2ACAA 2019 is the 5th in the series. The 2ACAA for Asia-Oceania, Europe, Africa, South Central, and North America will be held at the Polytechnic University of Madrid on 18th October 2019. The theme of 2ACAA 2019 is “Innovative Contextual Architecture in the Continents”.

WA Awards for Chinese Architecture (WAACA) was established by World Architecture magazine in 2002, and was awarded biennially. The mission of WAACA is to encourage and introduce completed works addressing the national conditions of China with innovative values. It aims at enlivening the academic atmosphere of Chinese architectural community, promoting the prosperity of Chinese architectural design, enhancing the quality of Chinese architecture, contributing to the public understanding and recognition of architectural industry in China, and introducing Chinese architects and architectures to the world.

In 2014, the seventh cycle of WA Awards for Chinese Architecture expanded to a larger range, with increased the categories of the awards, and identifying more clearly the value appeal of each award. By encouraging more types of projects to participate in the selection, WAACA intends to introduce more outstanding Chinese architectural works to the Chinese society and the world.

Oct 12th, 2018, when 2018 WAACA was held in Beidaihe, the jury selected 59 entries in total for Winners, Highly commended and Shortlisted projects of WA Achievement Award, WA Design Experiment Award, WA Social Equality Award, WA Technological Innovation Award, WA City Regeneration Award and WA Housing Award from a total of 354 valid entries on the basis of their independent judgment.

The Royal Academy has revealed the shortlist for their annual prize recognizing young talent in architecture, the Dorfman Award. The award is given to those "...reimagining the future of architecture and whose work demonstrates a high degree of sensitivity to local and global context." The 2019 shortlist comprises four emerging architects practicing across the globe.

This year's shortlisted designers/practices are: Fernanda Canales (Mexico), Alice Casey and Cian Duggan of TAKA Architects (Ireland), Mariam Kamara of Atelier Masomi (Niger), and Boonserm Premthada of Bangkok Project Studio (Thailand.) The jury for this year's prize included chair Alan Stanton, Louisa Hutton, Phyllida Barlow, Kirsty Wark, Lesley Lokko, and Richard Burdett. The winner will be announced later this year.

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has selected Venturi Scott Brown's Sainsbury Wing at the National Gallery of London as the recipient of the 2019 AIA Twenty-five Year Award. Designed by Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown in an international competition, AIA commended the project for its ability to “...make its context better than it found it” - a citation borrowed from Venturi himself.

The award is presented annually to a project that has "stood the test of time by embodying architectural excellence for 25 to 35 years."

THE BRIEF

We live in a time of great change. As paradigmatic shifts in technology, social networks and the physical environment constantly reshape our way of living, we can foresee that the living space of the future in 10 or even 5 years will be drastically different from what it is today.

How will we live in 2025 with updated basic needs and redefined living spaces? Perhaps, physical space and distance will further give way to digital connectivity, while inter-personal relationships will be complicated by our latest affair with artificial intelligence. Or, unsustainable urban development and the celebration of all things virtual will come to a halt and humans will engage in a renewed conversation with each other and the environment.

The Council on Tall Building and Urban Habitat have announced the winners of the 16th edition of the CTBUH Tall Building Awards. From over 48 finalists in 28 countries, the best buildings from four regions – the Americas, Asia & Australasia, Europe, and Middle East & Africa – were selected, along with recipients of the Urban Habitat Award, the Innovation Award, the Construction Award and the 10 Year Award. From these finalists, the CTBUH has also awarded the Best Tall Building Worldwide to the Oasia Hotel Downtown by WOHA.

The towers were chosen by a panel of architects from world-renowned firms and were judged on every aspect of performance, looking in particular for those which “have made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of tall buildings and the urban environment, and that achieve sustainability at the highest and broadest level.”

Architects, designers, and sheet metal contractors are invited to submit their copper building projects for the 2018 North American Copper in Architecture (NACIA) awards program through January 31, 2018. Now in its 11th year, the program recognizes and promotes architectural copper and copper alloy structures in North America.

The Boston Society of Architects (BSA) has announced its finalists for the 2017 Harleston Parker Medal. Established in 1921, the medal is awarded to “the single most beautiful building or other structure” that is built in the city of Boston in the past 10 years. Established as a chapter of the AIA, the Boston Society of Architects, together with its sister organization the BSA Foundation, is committed to advocating great design and “sharing an appreciation for the built environment with the public at large.” This year’s jury led by Yugon Kim (IKD, TKSP Architects Boston) formed a panel of ten acclaimed Boston professionals representing a wide range of disciplines, from architecture to urban planning to media.

The prestigious IIA National Awards for Excellence in Architecture 2015 will be held in Calicut from April 7-9, 2016, along with CROSSROADS 2016, hosted by the IIA Calicut Centre, powered by Trojan Plywood.
