Hebei: The Latest Architecture and News

GIDA 2020 - Goldreed Industrial Design Award - is the new international design award sponsored by the Xiongan Future Industrial Design Institute, with the aim of promoting at an international level the concept of “harmony” applied to design.

Snøhetta was selected to design the latest landmark of Xingtai, one of China’s oldest cities that is undergoing rapid urban development. The Grand Theater, integrated into the master plan of the central and southern parts of the Hebei province, will become a new cultural monument.

Designed by Latitude Studio, their design of the research and design center in YuTian County, in the province of Hebei, China, takes into account the issues of the corporate philosophy, contributes to creativity, and has respect for the workers and their working and living conditions. Through its 11 different shapes and facades, the concept also safeguards the environment and the consumption of energy to further sustain its resources. With an area of 48,636m2, the site of the Hebei University Library is located in the center of the new Beicheng Campus. This competition winning proposal by Damian Donze, of the Tongji Architectural Design and Research Institute, is clearly divided. The base of the building is designated for some offices, an archive, a network center, a convention center and an exhibitions center. This way, the West entrance is reserved for the offices and the the network center while the East entrance is reserved for the convention center and the exhibition center.
