The recently renovated Aparthotel Playasol Jabeque Soul is located in Ibiza Town, between Playa d’en Bossa and Figueretas, with views of the Mediterranean Sea and Ibiza’s characteristic sunsets. Kriskadecor's aluminium chain was applied as part of the project’s interior design strategy.
Antonio Domenech Lago, the aparthotel’s general director, introduced the concept of “when the sun comes down” as the starting point for a sculptural interior intervention. The skylight element was intended to incorporate lighting while providing privacy to the rooms without obstructing views, as well as helping reduce noise from the ground floor.
To translate this concept into a built solution, Aixut Interiorisme developed an installation that evokes descending sunrays through 12-meter-high cascades of chain links, fabricated as continuous single pieces. The intervention required 170 square metres of Kriskadecor aluminium chain in a brilliant gold finish.
Extending the concept, the suspended lamps represent stars emerging at sunset, while their sound-absorbing coating helps mitigate noise dispersion. At ground level, white gravel flower beds complete the composition, reinforcing the project’s atmospheric interpretation of the sky.
