Enrique Norten Awarded the Lorenzo H. Zambrano Award by CEMEX

Mexican architect Enrique Norten has been awarded the Lorenzo H. Zambrano Award for his outstanding career as an architect and professor. He is the founder and director of TEN Arquitectos (Mexico City, New York, and Miami) and, throughout his career, has been internationally recognized for his extensive portfolio of more than 60 built projects around the world.

Born in Mexico City, he graduated with a degree in Architecture from the Universidad Iberoamericana in 1978 and obtained a Master of Architecture from Cornell University in 1980. He has taught and held academic chairs at various universities in the United States and Europe. He is currently a professor emeritus at the University of Pennsylvania.

His other accolades include the National Architecture Award (2021), the Fine Arts Medal from the Ministry of Culture (2018), the “Trayectorias” Award from the Mexico City College of Architects (2014), the “Legacy Award” from the Smithsonian Institution (2007), the Leonardo da Vinci “World Award of Arts” from the World Cultural Council (2005), and the Mies van der Rohe Award for Architecture (1998).
