The Fundación ICA presents the initiative to establish the ICA Center for Education, Research, and Training (CENFICA), which will consolidate ICA's historical mission and vision for the professional development of new generations of professionals and the continuous training of its employees. Drawing on academic program experiences and the creation of innovation laboratories for construction and prefabrication processes, ICA promotes CENFICA through Fundación ICA—a non-profit civil association founded in 1986—aiming to expand its institutional outreach across three core areas: Education, Research, and Training.
An invitation-only competition was held to develop the conceptual architectural design for CENFICA. The objective was to adapt and reuse the existing structure of the current Fundación ICA headquarters (Av. Del Parque 91) while incorporating the adjacent lot (Av. Del Parque 93), which features an area of 215 square meters and a maximum construction area of 500 square meters. Six teams with extensive experience in cultural and academic projects participated in the two-stage competition:
