Bringing lighting to those in need using solar energy and affordable materials. This is the mission of the NGO Litro de Luz, which, during a three-day campaign, positively impacted the quality of life of 173 families from riverside communities living along the banks of the Rio Negro in the Amazon.

In the communities of Nova Canaã do Aruaú, Nova Jerusalém, and Lindo Amanhecer, more than 670 people relied on diesel generators to have electricity for just a few hours a day. Beyond the pollution, noise, and odor they produce, these machines break down frequently, and communities commonly go without power for months. This reality changed on April 21, 22, and 23.
