Over the years, interior design has evolved in response to changing needs, and above all, to the experiences it seeks to evoke for the user. Over the last two years, we have witnessed a radical shift and a heightened interest in this field, as the pandemic forced us to pay closer attention to how we configure the spaces we inhabit. This has brought about much more holistic designs aimed at user well-being, combining colors, sensory experiences, technology, and natural elements that promote health.
Mexico is highly privileged in terms of climate and diversity. When designing, this opens up numerous possibilities to play with the temperature of materials, light quality, airflow, and more. We believe that interior design is fundamental to shaping every space, particularly when paired with gastronomy and, above all, daily life, to offer experiences that stimulate the senses. Previously, we explored the interior design of restaurants, bookstores, bathrooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, and spaces with hammocks in Mexico, focusing on innovative layouts that combine the country's heritage with advancements in materials, decor, and technology. With this in mind, we have compiled a list of 19 apartment kitchens that feature central islands or breakfast bars in various spatial configurations to spark your imagination and inspire your next projects.
