Within the context of the comprehensive recovery of the Historic Center of Lima, the Rímac River Special Landscape Project (PEPRR) is developing a proposal for the regeneration of the iconic Alameda and Plazuela de Acho. This project—together with the other 50 interventions proposed in the PEPRR master plan—aims to spark a multidimensional recovery of the riverfront and heritage environment, while simultaneously defending and strengthening the civic qualities of Lima's public spaces through a systemic approach that coordinates mobility, the urban environment, heritage, and landscape.
New Alameda and Plazuela de Acho: A New Environment for Acho and the North Bank of the Rímac River

The proposal for the New Alameda and Plazuela de Acho is located on the north bank of the Rímac River, within the Historic Center of Lima, which is characterized by its significant heritage, cultural, and historical value (Fig. 1). Developed by the Municipal Program for the Recovery of the Historic Center of Lima (PROLIMA), this project is one of the 51 interventions outlined in the Rímac River Special Landscape Project (PEPRR) and has been identified as a priority project (Fig. 2) under the agreement signed by the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima (MML) and the Andean Development Corporation (CAF).
