Every year, the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA), through the National System of Art Creators (SNCA), recognizes those who represent excellence in national culture through the Jóvenes Creadores Program. By providing grants, the program supports the creative and training processes of young Mexican artists, fostering favorable conditions for the development of original, significant, and positive creative projects.
For this edition, the cohort of fellows in the “Architectural Design” category included Mariana Ríos, Ximena Ocampo, Paola López, Pablo Goldin, Luis Young, Adrián Siller, and Rodrigo Escandón, who were mentored by María Bustmente Harfush, Daniel Filloy, and Mauricio Rocha. Each edition of the exhibition features works across the disciplines of Architecture, Applied Arts, Visual Arts, Folk Arts and Traditions, and Audiovisual Media, bringing together a total of 111 artists. To accommodate such a large exhibition while respecting the total number of pieces submitted, the show was divided into two phases: the first exhibition period ran from December 17, 2021, to January 30, 2022, and the second period opened on Thursday, February 10, 2022, running until March 27, 2022, at the Colegio de San Ildefonso.
