Campeche is a state located in southeastern Mexico on the Yucatán Peninsula, bordering the states of Yucatán, Quintana Roo, and Tabasco, and facing the Gulf of Mexico. Additionally, Campeche is one of the three states that define the political border with Guatemala. Covering 57,924 km², it is the third least-populated state in the country. Its capital and most populous city is San Francisco de Campeche.

Several factors contribute to Campeche's significant cultural wealth, key among them its transitional position between the tropical rainforest of the Guatemalan Petén and the jungle of the northern Yucatán Peninsula. Furthermore, as part of the ancestral territory of the Maya civilization for centuries, the state houses archaeological sites of immense historical importance, such as Calakmul and Edzná. Today, driven by urban growth and rising interest, contemporary Mexican architects are developing residential, cultural, and recreational projects. These designs share common gestures that are beginning to define the region's new architectural identity. Below, we present a selection of projects within this territory to continue exploring the architecture of Mexico.
