Ala Delta Station: competition for the expansion of the cable car system in Salta, Argentina

Due to both the growing tourist demand in the city of Salta and the population's need for equipped recreational open spaces, the Government of Salta—through the Salta Cable Car Complex and the Salta Architects' Association—will expand the cable car system to connect the summits of Cerro San Bernardo and Cerro Delta.

The primary objective of this competition is to secure a project that enhances activities at the summit of Cerro Delta, which is accessible via the cable car route that reaches San Bernardo, creating a high-altitude promenade.

Proposals must ensure efficient functionality by creating rational operational paths that connect public spaces while optimizing resource use. In this regard, considerations must include the durability of materials, the use of local labor and technologies, and simple, cost-effective maintenance requirements.
