Los Angeles: The Latest Architecture and News

LUMINEX returns for a third year, bringing art and community together in an engaging outdoor exhibition using buildings as the canvas. For one night only, free and open to all, eight multimedia artists will transform a five-block radius in the South Park District of downtown Los Angeles. Featured artists this year include JOJO ABOT, Refik Anadol, Alice Bucknell, Nao Bustamante, Petra Cortright, Marc Horowitz, Carole Kim, and Sarah Rara, as well as special installations with Los Angeles Video Artists (LAVA).

UCLA Architecture and Urban Design (UCLA AUD) is pleased to share its program of winter and spring lectures and events, all free and open to the public. UCLA AUD’s public lecture series is a proud tradition at the Department, with public dialogue as a cornerstone of AUD’s mission. The winter and spring program features another AUD tradition: the annual Rumble year-end exhibition, on view Monday, June 10 and Tuesday, June 11, 2024.

The Claude Parent Archives and The Front are pleased to announce the opening of
Claude Parent - Architectural Fictions on October 14, 2023 from 6-9pm, at The Front, 2207 N. Broadway in Los Angeles. This will also be a rare opportunity for collectors and architects to view and acquire Claude Parent’s visionary drawings before they are returned to the archive in Paris in November of this year.

The Los Angeles Design Festival returns Thursday, June 22-Sunday, June 25, 2023, with the theme, “Design for the People.” Join global and local creatives in celebrating art, design, culture, and community at ROW DTLA, Helms Bakery District in West L.A., and the Downtown Long Beach Design District, along with a variety of independent events hosted throughout the city. From talks and studio tours to exhibitions, installations and block parties, the 2023 Los Angeles Design Festival is free to attend.
