Custom Wood Elements in Institute of Technical Education | TSIGENIS WOODCRAFT

Tsigenis Woodcraft is a Greek workshop specializing in high-end woodwork and custom interior solutions for homes, hotels, and commercial spaces. Custom wood elements from Tsigenis were applied in the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), a renovated historic educational building in Voutes, Heraklion, Crete, Greece.

The project focused on the renovation of a historic building, balancing its traditional architectural character with the requirements of a contemporary work and learning environment. The design approach aimed to preserve the building’s identity while introducing modern functionality through carefully integrated materials and detailing.

For this project, Tsigenis Woodcraft fabricated built-in furniture, wooden paneling, and bespoke elements throughout the building. Crafted with high technical precision, these custom components emphasize durability, functionality, and refined detailing. Wood plays a central role in the renovation, adding warmth and natural balance while uniting history, technology, and design in a cohesive architectural statement.
