Submissions are now open for the LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2017, an annual international design competition for young designers, engineers, architects, and artists.
Lexus invites up-and-coming creators from around the world to propose projects and ideas that can help to shape a better future. The Award connects emerging designers with mentorship from some of the world’s leading design minds, prototype production funds, and the opportunity to show at Milan Design Week:
- Twelve finalists will be invited to exhibit their works at a Lexus exhibition space during Milan Design Week (Salone de Mobile) in April 2017.
- Four winners among the 12 finalists will receive mentorship from leading design minds and up to $30,000 of funding to cover prototype production costs. The four winners will create prototypes between January and March 2017, through sessions with their assigned mentors.
- Each of the twelve finalists will be asked to give a presentation at Milan Design Week 2017.
- A single Grand Prix winner will be named from among the four prototypes through final review by the judges and will receive production support from Lexus, as well as further mentorship from the elite judges.
