AWR Competitions: “Life Saving – First Step Against Disaster" & "REcycle/REchair"

Architecture Workshop in Rome (AWR) is proposing an international architectural ideas competition, “Life Saving – First Step Against Disaster”, with the aim of developing tsunami-proof strategies that could lessen the impact of these events on human lives. Architects, engineers, designers and students, around the world, with passion and creativity, can deal with this sensitive issue. More information on the competition after the break.

The jury is composed of professionals and professors of the Faculty of Architecture “SUR – Sapienza University of Rome ” and “IED” and the international architecture firm SOM London. The call is open to all professionals and students of the Faculty of Architecture and Design from around the world. Registrations are already active and will end on January 23, 2011. The last delivery of the projects is scheduled for February 6, 2011. This competition is powered by “SUR – Sapienza University of Rome”, “IED – European Design Institute” and “Fondazione Italia Giappone”.
