Text description provided by the architects. Isla Tortuga Park, in northern Quito, Ecuador, was selected for the implementation of the Yaku (meaning "water" in Kichwa) prototype. Yaku is a modular urban furniture piece that blends public space with sustainable rainwater and biodiversity management. Designed to be installed on any surface, its objective is to capture rainwater, store it, and promote its infiltration into the ground, emulating the natural water cycle. Yaku invites people to gather in public spaces while restoring awareness of the vital relationship between water and the city.
