Text description provided by the architects. Amapola Plaza is one of the 13 projects proposed in the context of the XI Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism held in Asunción. All the projects focus on improving public space for a deeply Latin American way of living—a reality similar to favelas or shantytowns—in Chacarita, one of Asunción's most traditional neighborhoods. This area, which has produced great artists, holds immense potential due to its privileged location in the city, yet remains highly marginalized.
