Text description provided by the architects. The Associação Terra Indígena Xingu (ATIX) is the organization representing all 16 ethnic groups and 8,000 inhabitants of the Xingu Indigenous Territory as of 2021. These groups include the Aweti, Ikpeng, Kaiabi, Kalapalo, Kamaiurá, Kĩsêdjê, Kuikuro, Matipu, Mehinako, Nahukuá, Naruvotu, Wauja, Tapayuna, Trumai, Yudja, and Yawalapiti. These peoples have resisted 500 years of organized violence against them and today put into practice a modern vision of the future through various projects.
