Text description provided by the architects. The project was set in motion by joining forces with the Mexican institution Infonavit. In 2016, for the UN-Habitat III World Conference, the firm Al Borde was commissioned to design the German Pavilion. Its core principle was to have a second life with a social purpose—an idea that interested Infonavit, which proposed creating a project to reuse their own pavilion for a social cause. The pavilion consists of two interlocking naves, both shaped like the archetypal house; the first step was to separate them to create two distinct spaces.
