A week ago, we announced the 15 finalists for the ArchDaily en Español Obra del Año Award, which celebrates the best architecture in Latin America and Spain, inviting our readers to act as a jury and select their favorite projects from those published throughout the year. Today, the time has finally come to reveal the winners of the 2025 Obra del Año Award.
We are pleased to present the three standout projects of this edition: first place was awarded to a refurbishment and adaptation project in a historic neighborhood undergoing transformation in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, while the other two winning works are located in Peru. This selection highlights the well-deserved recognition of contemporary architecture in the country. Furthermore, all three winning projects stand out for their commitment to their surroundings and for reflecting a deep sense of belonging, approaching architecture as a tool at the service of the physical, social, and cultural contexts in which they are embedded.
The 2025 Obra del Año Award is presented by Dornbracht, an internationally renowned company for its kitchen and bathroom products.
