The word "deck" originated in the English language to refer to a ship's deck. Today, the term is used to describe outdoor surfaces made of wooden planks that may or may not surround pools, hot tubs, and soaking tubs. These design options can be highly diverse—so much so that a new approach has emerged in the market as a growing trend: the wet deck.
A wet deck provides a space to relax, sunbathe, or even play inside the pool. It consists of a shallower area, from 10 to 30 cm deep, allowing users to at least dip their feet. In this space, lounge chairs, small tables, and umbrellas can be easily arranged. The size of this area depends on the pool's capacity, requiring careful planning based on its intended use, whether residential or public (such as a club or residential development). Furthermore, its aesthetic appeal can be enhanced with fountains, waterfalls, water jets, or lighting design that makes the space even more inviting at night.
