As part of an initiative by a group of young people who make up Patio Efímero, early in 2023 the open call was launched for the "Patio 4 Competition: Meeting of Ephemeral Interventions" in collaboration with the National System of Art Creators of the Federal Ministry of Culture, CREST EVOCA, El Parral Departamentos, and the Management of the Historic Center and Cultural Heritage of the Municipality of Puebla. The invitation was extended to plastic, graphic, visual, and multidisciplinary artists, as well as established and emerging architects, to participate in the fourth edition of Patio Efímero.

With this premise, and with water as the central concept, eight courtyards in the Historic Center of Puebla opened their gates to welcome more than 13,000 visitors. Created by Cultura Efímera A. C., the fourth edition of Patio: Encuentro de Intervenciones Efímeras (Patio: Meeting of Ephemeral Interventions) took place from October 7 to 15, 2023. This social, cultural, and civic program fosters community building by reflecting on the impact that historical heritage and contemporary art have on the lives of those who inhabit the city of Puebla.

This year's program of activities comprised eight historic courtyards that hosted ephemeral installations by architects and artists who developed their pieces around a conceptual dialogue: art, architecture, heritage, and water. Featuring six competition teams alongside guest architect Dinorah Schulte and artist Fernando Diyarza, Patio Efímero successfully fostered reflection and collective gathering within these historic spaces, provoking aesthetic, emotional, and experiential encounters.
