As part of the second Model: Barcelona Architectures Festival, local architecture firm H3o Architects—led by Adrià Orriols, Joan Gener, and Miquel Ruiz—presented the temporary installation “Nomad Assembly". As one of the five installations featured in this festival curated by Eva Franch i Gilabert and co-organized by the Barcelona City Council and the Mies van der Rohe Foundation, the project was developed to its full materialization in the public space beneath the canopy of the Mercat dels Encants, serving as the main stage for the event.
The Barcelona Architectures Festival was established in 2022, promoted by the Barcelona City Council and the Architects' Association of Catalonia (COAC). Building on the legacy of the previous year, which featured numerous debates, routes, exhibitions, installations, and augmented realities reflecting directly on architecture from diverse perspectives, this edition of Model 2023 aims to transform the Parc de les Glòries into an area of architectural and urban experimentation by reformulating its public spaces under the theme of Radical Empathy. Led by artistic director Eva Franch i Gilabert, the festival is a collaborative effort involving a large team of architects, curators, and over 50 local institutions and organizations.
