Through August 31, 2023, CAU Brasil will accept proposals for papers on the theme of Education, Professional Scope, and Practice. The goal is to discuss ideas that answer the question: What kind of architect do we need and what kind of architect do we want? Selected papers will be presented during CAU's 2nd National Seminar on Education, Professional Scope, and Practice. The free, hybrid event is organized by the Education and Training Commission of the Council of Architecture and Urbanism of Brazil (CEF-CAU/BR) and is scheduled to take place from September 18 to 20 in Brasília.
The open call accepts submissions documenting practical experiences, technical papers, articles, or research projects and their results. Interested participants must submit their work using the template provided in the call for papers, along with a link to the primary author's Lattes CV, if applicable, via the form available here.
Proposed submissions will be reviewed by an Evaluation and Selection Committee. Authors of accepted papers must submit their contributions in video format by September 15, along with a publication and distribution release form. The videos should be between three and five minutes long and submitted as MP4, WMV, or compatible files.
This call is open to professionals, students, professors, researchers, council members, CAU technical staff, and the general public who can contribute to fostering debate on the relationship between the education of architects and urban planners and the professional qualifications required to meet the demands of Brazilian society.
