
On Friday, January 20, 2023, during the Constitutive Session of the new National Board elected by our members in the 2022 CA Elections, the new Executive Board and officers of the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile were chosen for the 2022–2024 term.
The National Board elected Beatriz Buccicardi Kretschmer as the new National President of the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile; Mario Neira Quiroga as Vice President of Internal Affairs; Claudio Reyes Stevens as Vice President of National Affairs; Marco Rodríguez Ormazábal as Secretary General; and Luis Alberto Viada Ovalle as Treasurer.
Meanwhile, Jadille Baza Apud, who served as National President between 2020 and 2022, joins the new Board as Past President and Director of Benefits.
Additionally, the rest of the National Board includes Juan Sabbagh Pisano as Director of Development, and Fernando Miranda Monsalve as Director of Activities.
All of the aforementioned elected positions were confirmed at the Ordinary General Assembly on Monday, January 16, 2023.
Beatriz Buccicardi Kretschmer, the new National President of the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile, becomes the fifth woman to lead the country's architects, following Eliana Caraball (1986-1988), Isabel Tuca (2000-2002), Pilar Urrejola (2015-2017) and Jadille Baza Apud (2020-2022).
Beatriz Buccicardi Kretschmer
An architect graduated from the Universidad de Chile, she holds credentials in Urban Development, Urban Planning, and Planning Instruments from ECLAC, MINVU, and other organizations. Her training includes Land-Use Planning, Environment, Heritage, Indigenous Affairs (ILO Convention 169), Green Architecture, Sustainability, Universal Accessibility, Climate Change, and Citizen Participation.
She worked at the firms Cristián Fernández Arquitectos and Gubbins-Labbe Arquitectos, as well as in the public sector as Director of Works for the Municipality of Lo Barnechea.
She was an architect for the Ministry of Public Works (MOP), working in the Concessions Coordination office (CCOP) within the Secretariat of Environment and Territory.
She has taught at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and the Universidad Central.
Within the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile, she has been an active member of the Culture Committee, the Human and Civil Rights Committee, the Public Service Architects Committee, the Independent Reviewers Committee, the Gender Committee, and the Professional Action Committee. She also served as Vice President of the Advisory Bodies Council of the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile.
In 2018, she received the Alberto Risopatrón Award, presented to a member architect who has distinguished themselves through their professional association work within the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile.
