More than a decade ago, a new initiative emerged to redefine the architectural pedagogical system. With an influence that today spans countries like Argentina, Peru, Mexico, Venezuela, Guatemala, and the United States, the Virtual Workshop of the Americas (TVA) successfully and synergistically brings together education, collectivity, and virtuality. Architects Nahuel Salcedo and Celeste Gómez Lahoz are part of the coordination team driving this project forward year after year. Here, they explain the initiative in greater detail.

The Virtual Workshop of the Americas (TVA) is a collaborative teaching and learning environment that brings together several academic design studios geographically distributed across the continent, from Texas in the United States to Mendoza in Argentina. Within this framework, students from various universities commit to working on the same design brief under a shared schedule, collaborating and sharing their project development online. The Virtual Workshop of the Americas also functions as an international competition for architecture students, culminating in the selection and recognition of the best projects.
