When we launched this project in 2006, the concept of a "Platform" became highly significant for us, as we sought to provide an effective foundation to showcase your work as architects, building a network for knowledge exchange.
Although it was in Spanish, this network grew from Chile to the world, generating significant interest from various regions. This made us realize that the platform was needed in other languages, leading us to launch it in English, and later in Portuguese and Chinese.
At that moment, we wondered what it should be called: Architectural Platform? Plataforma Arquitetura? 体系结构平台?
Although the Plataforma Arquitectura brand had gained strong traction in Spanish-speaking countries, we felt that international expansion offered an opportunity to find a more precise name—one that reflected our continuous updates and worked seamlessly across multiple languages. Thus, ArchDaily was born, eventually becoming the most visited architecture website in the world through its English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Chinese editions.
Between 2012 and 2015, we launched local versions for Mexico, Colombia, and Peru under this new name, yet we continued to use the name Plataforma Arquitectura out of habit. Over the years, we updated our logo to ArchDaily and changed the name of the site, leaving only one final step: transitioning from plataformaarquitectura.cl to archdaily.cl.
Today, we are taking that final step to unify all our websites, social media, and communications. We hope this makes our network easier to navigate, and we remain fully committed to our users in Spanish-speaking countries to ensure that ArchDaily en Español continues to be your source of inspiration, knowledge, and tools, as part of the Daaily Platforms family.
