To celebrate its tenth edition, Open House will open the doors of more than 160 spaces and buildings of great architectural, cultural, and heritage value in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires on October 1 and 2, 2022. As it does every year, this architecture and urbanism festival will offer the public the opportunity to rediscover the city's architecture and urban design, as well as its people, stories, and anecdotes, through free activities, visits, gatherings, and tours.
Contributing to the program of the 18th International Architecture Biennial of Buenos Aires, Open House Buenos Aires aims to reflect on Future Heritage by offering a new perspective on the city, opening up high-quality private spaces, and bringing architecture closer to its inhabitants. The program will reflect not only on the city's architecture and inherited heritage but also on contemporary architectural examples that engage in dialogue with historical heritage.
For the 2022 edition of Open House Buenos Aires, almost all buildings can be visited without prior registration. Visitors can find information about each site (location, opening days and hours, and descriptions) on the website. It is worth noting that while most sites do not require registration, several have limited capacity.
"This year we celebrate 10 years of Open House Buenos Aires, returning to the original format: in this edition we will tour more than 160 buildings guided by their owners, the architects who created them, and a team of more than 800 volunteers who will be joining us." – Organizers of the 2022 edition
Starting September 20, online registration will open for the following buildings: Galileo Galilei Planetarium, Banco Hipotecario (former Bank of London), Barrio Parque Los Andes, New Buenos Aires Government Headquarters, Banco Macro Corporate Building, La Inmobiliaria Building (former Henlein Palace), Mueblería Díaz (9 de Julio Chalet), Zanjón de Granados, CeDIAP, IBM Building, and the Kirchner Cultural Center.
