The month of November is marked by various awareness-raising initiatives surrounding the struggle of Black people in a deeply racist society, and is, above all, an essential moment for white people to play an increasingly active role in anti-racist practices.

In recent years, racial and, particularly, anti-racist agendas have become increasingly present in architecture and urbanism. Recognizing the urgency and importance of valuing the contributions of Black professionals to our field, as well as the need to expand our references beyond whiteness and the Global North, we invite everyone to watch the live stream Rebuilding Repertoire: Black Trajectories, on November 19 at 6:30 PM, broadcast via Facebook.
We are pleased to bring together incredible professionals to share their journeys and begin the process of expanding and reshaping our professional references:
Tainá de Paula, architect and urbanist, urban activist, community organizer, and elected city council member for Rio de Janeiro.

Claudia Pires, architect, urbanist, professor, and active member of the IAB (Institute of Architects of Brazil), focusing primarily on urban policy.

Lucas de Abreu, architect, urbanist, and professor with experience in international offices and Social Interest Housing Technical Assistance (ATHIS).

Muhammad Bazila, or Muha Bazila, architect, urbanist, visual artist, and researcher whose work reflects a perspective rooted in the experience of being a Black person.

Kariny Nery (moderator), a Black architect from the urban periphery. Co-founder of the Coletivo Da Cei Eu Sei, which aims to transform public space through tactical urbanism.

The event is the first edition of the Rebuilding Repertoires series, created by the Extraordinary Vice-Presidency of Affirmative Action of the Institute of Architects of Brazil – National Directory (IAB-DN). It is co-organized by the Arquitetas (in)Visíveis Collective, the Committee for Gender and Race Equity of the IAB-Federal District, and the Federal District Architects' Union (Sindicato Arquitetos DF).
The live stream will be broadcast simultaneously on Facebook via the pages of Arquitetas (in)Visíveis, IAB-DF, IAB-DN, and Sindicato Arquitetos DF on November 19 at 6:30 PM.
