Universities, schools, and workshops transforming Peru's educational architecture

Subscriber Access

In this feature, we showcase Peru's progress in the design and construction of educational architecture.

Among these, the University of Piura Classroom Building stands out, having recently received both national and international awards, as well as the jungle schools designed by Semillas. There is also a special mention for the state's hard work with the Plan Selva since 2015, and the upcoming Escuelas del Bicentenario (Bicentennial Schools), which are currently underway.

In each of these projects, architecture aims to foster a more flexible learning experience, driven by an urgent focus on both the users and the surrounding environment. The traditional rigidity of classroom education dissolves as learning spaces become interconnected, allowing everyone to learn at their own pace within a framework of equal opportunities.
