In late January, the forum “Chillán: Paisaje Moderno/Territorios en transformación” took place in Chillán. Jointly organized by the Spanish Cultural Center (CCESantiago), the Alfonso Lagos Extension Center of the University of Concepción (CECAL), and the Heritage Unit of the Municipality of Chillán (UPA), the event featured three days of conferences and workshops open to the community.

The forum aimed to discuss and reflect on Chillán's architectural, cultural, and artistic heritage, while examining the challenges it faces as the new regional capital of Ñuble. To this end, architects Paul Birke and Pablo Brugnoli were appointed by the organizers to curate the initiative, which will continue throughout the year through artistic residencies in the city. Birke and Brugnoli proposed experts and activities that transformed the event into a space for dialogue and synergy, bridging prominent cultural figures with the interests of the local community.
