The Directorate of Innovation and Technological Development is a line agency responsible for contributing to the promotion of research, innovation projects, quality assurance, and technology development within Peru's Ministry of Housing, Construction, and Sanitation. The DIDT is tasked with formulating, disseminating, and executing programs, projects, activities, and both financial and non-financial instruments that facilitate innovation in areas under the Ministry's jurisdiction.
Furthermore, it serves as a cross-sectoral link between other levels of government, private sector entities, academia, and civil society involved in housing, urban planning, construction, and sanitation. The 2022 Innovation Week is the first inter-institutional engagement space promoted by the Ministry of Housing, Construction, and Sanitation for the collaborative development of innovations across these four key areas.
The week is structured around four thematic pillars that seek to provide a conceptual counterpoint, first by reinterpreting the four major topics addressed by the vice-ministry: Housing is transformed into Habitability, Urbanism is expanded to Territory, Construction focuses on Materiality, and Sanitation on the services provided. Additionally, each pillar includes a proactive characterization to be considered: intelligent, digital, systemic, and improved. These qualities are intended to guide the discussion of sectoral topics.
