Opening of the "Emerging Architecture Studios Based in Luanda" Exhibition:
"Emerging Architecture Studios Based in Luanda" is a collective architecture exhibition curated by architect Jaime Mesquita, creative director of Office building for Architects-ObA. The exhibition will take place from October 30 to November 20 at the International Exhibition Hall of the National Museum of Natural History in Luanda. It will feature work from seven architecture studios based in Luanda: Building Society for Architecture; IDaio; José Godinho; Luand’Arq; MATAG; Paula Nascimento; and ObA. In addition to these studios, the exhibition will feature DOCOMOMO Angola as a special guest. Beyond the exhibition, the event will include a series of open lectures led by key figures from each studio, intended to explore their respective methodologies and design philosophies. These lectures will be held at Agostinho Neto University, Lusíada University, and Methodist University. "Emerging Architecture Studios Based in Luanda" is produced in collaboration with The Sanzala, with institutional support from the Order of Architects of Angola and the Luanda Provincial Government, and sponsorship from Alaturca Pedras Naturais, TRANSINVESTE Construções Angola, Tintas CIN Angola, and PHN Maquetes.
This collective architecture exhibition aims to energize and promote the ideas of young architects who have been exploring new design dynamics, reinventing codes and languages within Angolan architecture. In this context, seven studios of young architects in Luanda will exhibit their most significant work across a variety of scales.
