After more than two years, Arquitectura PUCP (Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú) is pleased to announce the return of the Limapolis International Workshop in 2023. Titled "Right to Housing" and curated by Elizabeth Añaños and José Luis Villanueva, this edition aims to serve as a space for experimentation and reflection on housing and living in Metropolitan Lima.
In 2020, COVID-19 pandemic restrictions forced millions of people around the world to quarantine in their homes, turning housing into a front line. Under the "Stay at Home" slogan, many faced a new type of domesticity, as housing expanded into other spheres of daily life due to remote work.
However, housing also became a space of conflict, characterized by precariousness and exclusion, particularly in countries where high levels of poverty persist and institutional frameworks for housing policy remain weak. This situation highlighted the deep social inequality in cities and the urgent need to implement policies to improve the habitat.
