“Rethink the City: New Approaches to Global and Local Urban Challenges” is a free online course offered by the Faculty of Architecture at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands, beginning May 2 of this year.
The course aims to address urban challenges in emerging countries, offering a new perspective for understanding and analyzing the Global South. Accordingly, the curriculum is structured around three thematic pillars: “spatial justice,” “housing creation and management,” and “urban resilience.”
This new edition of the course will feature a newly launched module on urban challenges across the African continent. The inaugural edition of the course received the annual Excellence in Education award from the Association of European Schools of Planning (AESOP). This marked the first time the association presented the award to an online course.
