In partnership with DPA-X, a consultancy affiliated with the office of French architect and urban planner Dominique Perrault, the Indigo Group—a global leader in parking management and related services—is hosting the international "Carpark Futures Competition 2022." The initiative invites young architects residing and working in any country to explore the architectural, urban, technical, and environmental potential of repurposing underground parking facilities.
Registration is open until April 17, and projects must be submitted within a 72-hour window, from May 20 to May 22. Candidates are tasked with proposing a series of architectural interventions that address new practices related to mobility, urban logistics, and, more broadly, shifts in lifestyle and consumption habits. The site for the proposals is a specific area known as Euralille, developed in the 1990s in the Lille district of Northern France.
