Text description provided by the architects. The word "experimental" takes on a different ethical meaning when playing with a client's resources. On the other hand, history has allowed many architects to experiment with their own studios and workshops—even more so when this process originates from a partnership of two architects. Such is the case with REC, who lean toward strategies of warmth, admiring duos like Lilly Reich and Mies van der Rohe, Charlotte Perriand and Le Corbusier, Alison and Peter Smithson, and, of course, Charles and Ray Eames, instead of a monothematic, museum-like approach. This is what consciously happens in this project, where reflection, refraction, sustainability, spatial labyrinth, aerodynamics, practicality, and domesticity served as the generative axes.
