In developing architectural projects in favelas and peripheral areas, the work of Coletivo LEVANTE demonstrates immense sensitivity to the unique character and specificities of these environments. According to the group, "recognizing the values lived and realized by favela residents—landscape, architecture, identity, and relationships" is the very raw material they seek for their projects. This approach has gained recognition through works like the Lá da Favelinha Cultural Center and Casa no Pomar do Cafezal, winner of the ArchDaily 2023 Building of the Year Award.
The Coletivo LEVANTE team currently includes: Alan Franca, Amanda Castilho, Anna Lobato, Fernando Maculan, Marcos Franchinni, Nattalia Bom Conselho, Giovanna Camisassa, Helder Machado, Kdu dos Anjos, Maria Soalheiro, Marina Vilela, Matheus Angel, Pedro Assis, Rafael Yanni, and Ricardo Lobato. However, as LEVANTE's work demonstrates, a network of professionals, suppliers, partners, and collaborators extends far beyond the collective itself, proving to be an invaluable asset in bringing their projects to fruition.
