São Paulo has seen a proliferation of apartments with mass-produced floor plans that bear no relation to the context of the site, the neighborhood, or people's actual lives. In this model, natural lighting and ventilation are often precarious. The original layout featured cramped rooms and too many hallways—resulting in a circulation area disproportionate to the rest of the apartment.
