About Yanfei Architects
Founded in 2012, Yanfei Architects is an interdisciplinary, research-oriented practice. Focusing on the contemporary context of China, the firm explores architectural forms that offer new possibilities for modern living. Its work has received widespread industry recognition, including the AIA Design Excellence Award in 2018. That same year, the firm was invited to participate in the Venice Biennale of Architecture, followed by the 2019 China National Arts Fund touring exhibition "Our Countryside" at the Aedes Architecture Forum in Berlin, Germany. In 2023, Yanfei Architects received the "Natural Build · Architecture China Award" Young Explorer Award, and in 2024, hosted its solo exhibition, "The Daily Constant," in Shanghai. In 2025, principal architect Shui Yanfei was awarded the Kazuhiro Kojima Award, and the firm has been invited to speak at the UIA World Congress of Architects 2026.
