About Yanfei Architects
Founded in 2012, Yanfei Architects is an interdisciplinary, research-driven practice. Grounded in the contemporary context of China, the firm explores architectural forms that offer new possibilities for everyday life. Its work has garnered widespread acclaim within the industry. In 2018, the practice received the AIA (American Institute of Architects) Design Excellence Award and was invited to participate in the Venice Biennale. In 2019, it joined the China National Arts Fund-supported touring exhibition "Our Countryside" at the Aedes Architecture Forum in Berlin. Yanfei Architects won the "Natural Build · Architecture China Award" Youth Exploration Award in 2023, and hosted its solo exhibition "Ordinary Matters" in Shanghai in 2024. In 2025, principal architect Shui Yanfei was awarded the Kazuhiro Kojima Award, and has been invited as a speaker for the UIA World Congress of Architects in 2026.
