About Modum Atelier
Founded in 2021 and led by Ruizhe Zhou and Junbo Yang, Modum Atelier is an idea-driven design studio whose practice spans architecture, interiors, exhibitions, spatial installations, and furniture design. The studio maintains permanent offices in Milan, Chengdu, and Nanjing. The name "Heng" (the Chinese character for Modum) represents balance, aiming to integrate diverse elements to generate the new. The studio explores a modern Eastern identity through cultural eclecticism, treating tradition as raw material for "sustainable cultural experiences" while seeking a balance between heritage and modernity. Emphasizing site-specific responses, Modum Atelier creates rich narratives tailored to each environment, shaping unique spatial experiences through the customized treatment of form, tectonics, and materials.
