Three projects have been chosen by the ArchDaily en Español community as the winners of the 2026 Obra del Año Award. Representing Peru and Ecuador, the winners were selected after three weeks of public voting from a pool of over 800 projects. The award recognizes the best of architecture in Latin America and Spain, as decided by its community.
First place was awarded to the Muyunafest 2025 Main Floating Stage in Iquitos, Peru, designed by Espacio Común, for "a film festival that defends the world's forests by giving a voice—through cinema—to Amazonian communities." Second place went to the Mirador School, La Jalquilla by Semillas, in Cajamarca, Peru, which "seeks to revitalize local knowledge and traditions, integrating the rich Andean and Amazonian biodiversity and culture" into a primary and secondary school. The Horizon Pavilion by Eletres Studio + Carrera de Arquitectura UCSG, in third place, is "a temporary space for prolonged memory" in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
The Obra del Año Award is the result of the collective effort of our readers, who voted to select the 15 finalists and, subsequently, the three winners. ArchDaily is grateful for your participation in this latest edition of the Ibero-American architecture award.
