DERIVAS is an invitation to walk; not in the way we do when commuting to study or work, but rather andare a zonzo—traversing the city without a specific purpose, wandering, enjoying the void, allowing ourselves to deviate, suddenly changing course, and finding pleasure in the collective zigzag.
It is a travel methodology that uses walking as a research practice, building peer-to-peer relationships in cities around the world. Beyond visiting new places, its goal is to collectively produce a publication—a hybrid between a travelogue and a guidebook—based on the explorations and fragments of each city, aiming to transfer knowledge and spark discussions, critical readings, and questions surrounding architecture, daily life, and other urban phenomena.
