
São Paulo, 2023 – On July 25, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the Arq.Futuro Cities Laboratory at Insper will host the debate "Implementing Early Childhood Programs and Social Urbanism: Success Stories."
Moderated by Tomas Alvim, general coordinator of the Arq.Futuro Cities Laboratory, the event will feature Teresa Surita, former mayor of Boa Vista (RO), where she implemented the Braços Abertos program, a live, in-person ombudsman service for citizens; Ricardo Balestreri, former Secretary of Citizenship for Pará—a role in which he led the development and implementation of the Terpaz/Usinas da Paz projects—and a professor at the Laboratory’s Center for Social Urbanism; and Kátia Mello, co-president of Diagonal, a firm with over 30 years of experience in socio-environmental consulting for social housing plans and projects, as well as the urbanization of degraded areas.
