The Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism (BIAU) is an initiative of the Government of Spain in collaboration with various Ibero-American institutions. After ten editions, it has established itself as a key reference for understanding the current state and future prospects of architecture and urbanism within the Ibero-American community.
The XI BIAU will be held for the first time in the city of Asunción in October 2019, featuring a program of activities that includes the presentation of selected works, keynote lectures, specialized presentations, and panel discussions centered around the main theme: aĩ paragua y (inhabiting - water).
The Biennial's core activities focus on recognizing and disseminating the most relevant professional trajectories, the most significant works of architecture and urbanism, the best publications, the most outstanding research projects, and the best ideas from architects and architecture students. The selections made by the juries for each category will be included in the catalog and the corresponding exhibitions.
