The "Pressão de Borda" collective presents the exhibition "Whispered News from a World Without Direction" at the Galeria Paulo Branquinho. The show opens on October 7 in Lapa, Rio de Janeiro.
"Whispered News from a World Without Direction" proposes the small-format art object as a reaction to the (unhealthy) externalization of the lives we lead—as well as to artistic practices and subjects whose disparity is indicative of an unprecedented cultural crisis. Ranging from figuration to abstraction in varying degrees, the exhibition consists of seven episodes exploring a general theory of the present: the feminization of power; the unclassifiability of gender; the desegregation of non-white genealogies; the greatness of the non-human; environmental and systemic disruption; the neo-romanticization of the landscape; and psychic entropy and social anomie.
