“Renata Cazzani: Chromatic Pulsations”
The artist presents 20 new paintings at Galeria Patricia Costa,
curated by Vanda Klabin
The way Renata Cazzani deciphers the equation between measurement, geometry, and color is a striking characteristic immediately apparent upon first encountering her predominantly large-scale abstract canvases. However, a more intimate look at these generously dimensioned planes, intersected by bars, reveals details that lead to brushstrokes alternating between explosive energy and the meticulousness found in small points of color. Viewers are invited to observe these elements in the artist's recent paintings, produced between 2022 and 2023, which will be presented in the exhibition “Renata Cazzani: Chromatic Pulsations,” opening at Galeria Patricia Costa on November 21. With an artistic career that began at age 16, Cazzani—who has exhibited in New York and at the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art in Japan—studied under Celeida Tostes and Angelo Venosa after joining the Parque Lage school in the 1980s.
